American-Built Featured Yachts

In 2017, American clients represented 40% of worldwide brokerage sales in yachts. It only makes sense with the supply of quality used brokerage vessels dwindling, American shipyards will see an increase in orders. In the following paragraphs we highlight 3 American builders; Hunt Yachts, Hatteras Yachts and Burger Yachts, along with their current featured brokerage vessel on the market.

Hunt Yachts are known for capturing the elusive pairing of classic New England style with the rugged capability and high performance of the Hunt Deep-V. The 80’ Hunt Yacht QUEEN BEE 2 exemplifies speed and comfort through rough water.  M/Y QUEEN BEE 2 maximizes comfort, space and efficiency while evoking the signature Hunt style and exceptional performance.  She features the legendary performance of the authentic Hunt Deep-V, the ride is smooth, level and dry whether the seas are calm or rough.

Powered by two MTU 10V2000 M94, 1600 hp diesel engines and electronically integrated with Hamilton waterjet propulsion, M/Y QUEEN BEE 2 delivers an easy 24 knot cruising speed with top speeds around 30 knots.  Further stabilizing the Hunt Deep-V are the two Seakeeper 8000 gyro stabilizers.

The classic New England style interior features a high-gloss teak interior with teak and holly soles throughout. Her luxurious layout features a master stateroom and 3 ensuite staterooms, an expansive cherry salon, gourmet galley and an extended flybridge with dinghy storage and lift.

No detail is overlooked in the main salon. A curved staircase to starboard leads up to the pilothouse. None of the furniture aboard is holding the boat together. M/Y QUEEN BEE 2 was built as a sturdy structure then the furniture was added which makes a huge difference in how the vessel handles at sea. A built in 55” flat screen tv on an electric lift accentuates the comfortable and classic interior. Forward the salon on the port side is the gourmet galley. The galley features GE and Miele appliances. Starboard the galley a beautiful dining table with seating for up to 8 guests is found.

The master stateroom features a king-sized berth with a large settee starboard. The walk-in closets, cedar lined drawers and teak cabinetry add an aura of sophistication to the suite. Additional features in the master suite include Bose surround sound and a luxury bathroom. A VIP stateroom and 2 additional guest staterooms plus crew quarters round out the accommodations in M/Y QUEEN BEE 2.

The Hamilton helm with Hunt Wood Destroyer Wheel sets the focal point in the Pilothouse. Offset by a brown leather settee, teak interiors and LED lighting, the room is magnificent. For a full list of electronics and system specifications visit Hunt Yacht QUEEN BEE 2’s specification page here.

The Sun deck onboard QUEEN BEE 2 is ideal for entertaining. The ships bell overlooks a teak table set for a bbq.
