The Independence Day fun will be spread out across the following locations:

Waterworks Park/Armature Works
Julian B Lane Riverfront Park

#7 Roche Harbor, Washington

Considered a top venue for families, kids and couples, Roche Harbor is a little slice of paradise. The 4th of July has games for kids of all ages (that would include adults), and a 5k run. A colors ceremony each night at the main dock tops off the evening. The setting is beautiful. Nested in a small peaceful harbor, this well managed resort has a swimming pool, playground, and small shops, some offering local artwork. On the Island you can buy fresh oysters, Dungeness crab to prepare yourself, or choose from several restaurants that offer fresh produce and seafood. There is a zip line, a park where you can view whales in their natural habitat and there are historical sites unique to the island. You might want to bring your bikes. The fireworks set off at dark and are proceeded by ceremony. See all Roche Harbor has to offer

#6 New York, New York Fireworks by Yacht

The largest display in all the USA is the annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks. Because the show encompasses the Brooklyn Bridge as well as four barges along the East River, there are lots of good vantage points.

#4 Marina del Rey, California Fireworks Display

The fireworks start at 9 p.m. and last 10 minutes. This is a popular event, with visitors traveling to the area from throughout the Southland. Enjoy the fireworks show with synchronized music played over loudspeakers at either Burton Chace Park or Fisherman’s Village. The fireworks will be shot from a barge off the Marina’s south jetty.  You can view the show from virtually anywhere in Marina del Rey, Venice Pier, Playa Vista and Dockweiler Beach.

#3 Traverse City, Michigan Fireworks

The West Arm of Grand Traverse Bay in Michigan is a picture-perfect destination for a Fourth of July Celebration. The weekend coincides with the Traverse City Cherry Festival that takes place July 3rd – 10th

Traverse City’s Fourth of July fireworks is a testament to civic engagement. In 2011, the group that had traditionally funded the fireworks opted out. A number of locals banded together and raised enough money for a 15-minute show — since then, they’ve formed a nonprofit: the Traverse City Boom Boom Club, dedicated to ensuring that Traverse City has fireworks on the Fourth. The show, which coincides with the National Cherry Festival, is now 25 to 30 minutes long, carefully synchronized with patriotic and mainstream music, and boasts more than 1,400 fireworks.

#2 Chicago, Illinois Fireworks by Boat

Further down Lake Michigan, the Navy Pier in Chicago lights up the sky on the 4th of July. This year you don’t have to hurry to catch the display of lights on the 4th – they offer a fireworks show every Wednesday and Saturday night this summer!

#1 Fireworks city for a 4th of July Display: Boston, Massachusetts

The world-famous Boston Pops holds free concerts on July 3 and 4, followed by the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular at 10:30 p.m. on the 4th. All take place on the Esplanade alongside the Charles River.
