Ocean Alexander 70e Yacht Review

When it comes to luxury yachts, Ocean Alexander is a name that consistently sets high standards. With their impeccable craftsmanship, attention to detail, and commitment to innovation, the Ocean Alexander brand has become synonymous with opulence on the open waters. In this blog post, we’ll dive into the captivating world of the Ocean Alexander 70E, a stunning vessel that combines elegance, comfort, and performance to deliver an unforgettable yachting experience.

The Ocean Alexander 70e – An Evolution of the OA Brand

The Ocean Alexander 70e has come with many new additions for the brand, as this model was the first to include Volvo Penta IPS pod drives and the first to be built in the USA. The 70e showcases a contemporary exterior design featuring sleek lines reminiscent of larger yachts, accentuated by generously proportioned hull-side ports and a stylish European superstructure. However, it gracefully retains a distinctive notched sheer line and preserves the timeless elegance of a classic Ocean Alexander yacht.

Another theme with this evolutionary OA model is the openness felt throughout the vessel. Step aboard and you’ll experience an unobstructed view spanning the entire main deck, accompanied by breathtaking panoramas showcased by generous, expansive windows. As you position yourself within the cockpit of the 70e, a seamless line of sight extends effortlessly through the salon and galley all the way to the pilothouse windows.

Some comparable models to the Ocean Alexander 70e include the 72’ Pilothouse and the 74 Flybridge model which has a LOA of 78’. In terms of layout, the 70e has a 4-stateroom layout that can accommodate 8 guests, which is 1 additional stateroom more than the Pilothouse and the 74 Flybridge models, which have 3. The 70e also comes with a shallower draft of 4’ 10” compared to the 5’+ draft that comes with the other 2 models. Finally, for propulsion, the 70e uses the new Volvo pod drives, while the 72’ Pilothouse and the 74 Flybridge use more traditional CAT C-18 model diesel engines.

Ocean Alexander 70e - Design and Aesthetics

Boarding the Ocean Alexander 70E, you’ll be greeted by a luxurious interior and spacious exterior that exudes refinement and elegance. The yacht’s layout is carefully designed to optimize space utilization, ensuring maximum comfort for both owners and guests. The foredeck is an impressive space, with a layout inherited from much larger yachts. It includes a twin settee, a table, and a sun pad, providing an exquisite spot to savor a sunset cocktail while at anchor. The flybridge of this model includes a fiberglass hardtop that covers the forward half of the flybridge, while the other half includes an ElectriChef grill and fridge, plus a wet bar.

Entering the salon through the electric sliding door, you’ll find a traditional entertainment area, featuring a pair of sofas and a TV that can be swung down from the overhead. Just ahead, the galley boasts an inviting island with a raised counter and full-size appliances. Additionally, there’s a settee with a table in the forward area, ideal for guests to gather near the captain during the voyage or for any dining occasions. The grand vision for this boat extends to the lower deck as well. Despite its 70-foot size, it accommodates four staterooms served by three heads without any cramped feeling. The master suite at the aft section spans the entire width of the boat, featuring oversized windows that flood the space with ample light and fresh air through the ports embedded in each window. Forward is a VIP stateroom complete with an island berth, and plenty of natural light illuminated by 2 windows. There is also an en-suite head, designed to mirror the master suite, which features exquisite stone counters, a stylish glass vessel sink, and elegant Hansgrohe faucets. The cabin to port is a twin bunk while the remaining guest cabin to starboard features twin berths that can easily slide together.

A Luxury Yacht That stands alone in its class

One of the hallmarks of Ocean Alexander yachts is their exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. A key element is the entire boat is painted at the shipyard, a rarity in a boat this size. Each vessel is built by skilled artisans who bring their expertise to every aspect of the construction process. From the meticulously crafted woodwork to the finest upholstery and finishes, the Ocean Alexander 70E exemplifies the brand’s commitment to quality and luxury, while taking a step forward for the brand by bringing fresh ideas and features such as the Volvo pod drives, and a new American manufacturing process.

With its stunning aesthetics, luxurious interiors, and state-of-the-art technology, this luxury yacht truly offers an unparalleled yachting experience that stands alone in its class. Whether you’re cruising along the coast or embarking on an extended voyage, the Ocean Alexander 70E is sure to exceed your expectations and make every moment on board an unforgettable adventure.
