The Newport Boat Show recap

THE NEWPORT BOAT SHOW - ONE OF YACHTING'S MOST PRESTIGIOUS EVENTS

Yachts from all over the East Coast filled the Newport Shipyard, Bowen’s Wharf and the surrounding waterfront in Newport, Rhode Island this September. The summer has drawn out boaters young and old to this historic maritime town. Set amongst the iconic coastal scenery, national historic sites, trendy boutiques, and world-class restaurants are the East Coast’s most popular yachting-centric events. The main event, the Newport International Boat Show, ran in conjunction with the Newport Brokerage Show.

AMAZING YACHTS ON DISPLAY

The Newport International Boat Show (NIBS) is the northeast’s largest in-water collection of yachts for sale and one of the most prestigious shows in the country. This 4-day event showcases the latest models from boat builders across the world. Hinckley Yachts, Vicem yachts, and Grand Banks were a few of many boat brands that displayed their latest models in this year’s show. The docks were full each day of the show with active buyers, brokers and yacht owners.  This year’s event included boats in the water of every type and style from 15-90 feet, and a wide variety of accessories, equipment, electronics, gear and services for boaters.

Owners & Boat enthusiasts

This was the same story a little further down the bay at the Newport Shipyard. Owners and boat enthusiasts were crowding the docks as each day was as busy as you would expect on a typical Saturday at the show. Worth Avenue Yachts displayed four boats in the show and our orange and white display couldn’t have been missed. Our lineup for the show included FOG DOG, a 40’ Hinckley Custom Talaria, LINDA MARIE, a 49’ Alden Express Flybridge, WAVE DANCER, an MJM 50z, and JESSICA, a 65’ Vicem 65 Classic. Our incredibly knowledgeable team of brokers which included Jonathan Chapman, Chris June, William Baldwin, Joe Dwyer, and Sean Meagher were onboard one of our displayed vessels each day ready to walk through the vessel with clients and showcase our lineup of exceptional yachts.

exceptional event

We began boat show weekend with a wonderful event co-hosted with Gustave White Sotheby’s aboard PURSUIT, a 124’ Trinty yacht that is available for charter. Our 2nd annual Gustave White and Worth Avenue Yachts Cocktail event was located onboard at Bowens Wharf Marina which happens to be walking distance from our office location on Bowens Wharf in Newport. We hosted our top clients aboard with canapes and wine and cocktails while viewing the gorgeous charter yacht and its beautiful amenities. The spectacular sunset of Newport Harbor was viewed on the aft deck while guests were sipping wine and dabbling in the selection of canapes that were offered. The weather fooled us into thinking that it is still July, but New England’s boating season is coming to a close. We are looking forward to next year’s Newport Brokerage Boat Show festivities and hosted events.
