INTERIOR NOTES AND ACCOMODATIONS (starting forward)
The interior design on MINOT is incredibly well executed for life at sea and in port. Highlights include: beaucoup storage, strategic handholds, AC/reverse cycle heat AND a separate thermostatically controlled diesel heating system vented throughout; salon hull ports; ample headroom; exquisite joinery work; a ‘crump catcher’ at the base of the companionway steps; tinted raised salon windows for a spacious feel and plenty of light; Custom inlaid chess table; proper Navigation station; gourmet sea galley; a settee and table roomy enough for eight! - and the list goes on!!
VIP STATEROOM:
The VIP guest stateroom is generous and offers wonderful comfort and privacy. Storage is plentiful with (2) large hanging lockers, (6) cabinets along the hull, and (2) large drawers. This cabin has (4) opening window ports and an opening hatch for natural light and ventilation and is also equipped with reverse cycle AC/heat. The oversized double berth may be converted into two singles depending on guest requirements. Private access is provided to the forward head.
GUEST HEAD AND SHOWER:
The guest/day head is just aft and to port of the VIP stateroom and features a sink-vanity with granite countertop with storage above and below, and a separate generous stall shower with room to stand or sit on a built-in teak seat. Overhead hatch and opening port provide natural light and ventilation.
STARBOARD GUEST CABIN:
Athwartships the head to starboard is the second guest stateroom with a legitimate double lower berth and optional pullman single berth above. For storage, there is a large hanging locker, (4) drawers, and (2) cabinets outboard. This cabin has an AC unit in addition to a dorade vent, opening window port and overhead hatch.
SALON:
Midships is the expansive raised salon with large wrap around windows and two CUSTOM fixed hull ports. To starboard is a gorgeous teak table with compass rose inlay with comfortable seating for 8. A large Samsung flat screen TV is mounted on the forward bulkhead, which is connected to satellite TV, DVD player, and Bose sound system. To port are two single settees flanking a custom fixed table with an inlaid chessboard. The forward settee is also used when seated at the nav station, located in the port forward corner of the saloon.

GALLEY
Better equipped than most homes, MINOT has a gourmet galley that will impress any cook on board. The parallel counter tops are granite. Inboard are twin stainless-steel sinks with a single pull out sprayer. Foot pumps and dedicated outlets for fresh and salt water complement a single faucet with mixer and pull out sprayer. Outboard starting forward are: built in freezer with front and top access; a brand-new Force 10 gimballed propane stove/oven and a large ‘stand up’ stainless Frigoboat refrigerator.
Conveniences like an under the counter drawer-style dishwasher and custom espresso machine are also located outboard. Storage is plentiful and will keep a large crew well fed when distance cruising. Light is provided by an opening port.

PASSAGE CABIN
Located aft of the saloon and to port, the passage cabin is purposefully built to serve two functions. First is to provide comfortable accommodations for another guest or captain, and the second is to have a space that can be used to work on equipment. Underneath the mattress is a stainless steel counter top to facilitate any work that may need to get done on board. Underneath the berth is a Splendide washer/drier, storage drawers, and access to the boats electrical systems.
Above the berth and outboard are the main electrical distribution panels for the boat.
From this stateroom, you also have wonderful stand up access to the engine room.
OWNER STATEROOM
Furthest aft on board is the palatial owner stateroom. The king-sized island berth is a true walk around with a custom mattress. Storage can be found throughout and would easily satisfy a live-aboard couple. In all there are two large hanging lockers, 10 drawers, and 8 cabinets. To port is a desk with storage underneath and a hidden safe. The stateroom has an ensuite head with separate shower stall.
The owner stateroom head has a sink vanity has a granite countertop with storage below and above. The head is electric and the separate shower stall is large with a custom teak seat. This head is also accessible from the passage cabin.
HULL AND DECK AND COCKPIT
Designed by Bill Dixon, the Passport 585 is a modern performance long distance cruiser. Her deck layout allows one to freely walk throughout while at rest or underway. A spacious and comfortable cockpit has a centerline drop leaf folding teak table flanked by 6’5” settees, great to stretch out on while underway. The centerline teak table also has an insulated compartment to keep cool beverages within arm's reach. The twin helm stations provide excellent visibility and easy access to the side decks or fore and aft cockpit. The aft deck seating area is FANTASIC! Perfect for entertaining and a wonderful area to recreate from for swimming, fishing etc.
