Explorer Yacht ASTERIA Wins Boat International’s 2025 Voyager’s Award

ASTERIA WINS BOAT INTERNATIONAL VOYAGER AWARD 2025

Some yachts win awards. ASTERIA earns them the hard way—by going the distance.

We’re proud to announce that Explorer Yacht ASTERIA has just claimed her second Boat International Voyager Award, this time for a truly extraordinary 24,000-nautical-mile odyssey spanning from the Arctic to Antarctica, with a global itinerary that redefines what’s possible in luxury expedition cruising.

The voyage began in early 2024 after a full refit in Greece. From the sun-drenched Mediterranean, ASTERIA set a course north, winding through the spectacular Norwegian fjords before crossing into the high Arctic. In Svalbard, she pushed through shifting ice and dense fog to reveal a landscape teeming with polar bears, Arctic foxes, and reindeer—a mythic world seemingly untouched by time.

By autumn, ASTERIA had made her way to London, then crossed the Atlantic with stops in New York and Boston. On Christmas Day, she arrived in Stanley, Falkland Islands, steady and composed against 80-knot winds, while her guests comfortably enjoyed coffee amid the Southern Ocean’s roar.

The journey continued with a five-day crossing to South Georgia, a place of towering peaks and massive wildlife colonies—penguins, elephant seals, and albatrosses set against a backdrop as cinematic as it is remote. Then came the final push south: Antarctica. Braving 99-knot gales and whiteout conditions, ASTERIA arrived at Elephant Island, sailing in the footsteps of Shackleton and the early explorers who dared to dream beyond the known world.

But this wasn’t just another voyage. It was a front-row seat to Earth at its most raw and breathtaking—from calving glaciers to shifting seascapes, from crystalline silence to storm-lashed drama. The return across the legendary Drake Passage closed the polar chapter, but ASTERIA was far from finished.

After Antarctica, ASTERIA headed northwest, making an iconic landfall in Rio de Janeiro, where warm breezes, music, and culture offered a striking contrast to the icy extremes left behind. From there, she sailed to the remote volcanic outpost of St. Helena, and then on to the far-flung Tristan da Cunha islands, the most isolated inhabited archipelago on Earth.

Her route finally brought her to Cape Town, South Africa, where she is now preparing for the next leg of her global voyage—a sweeping expedition along East Africa, through the Mozambique Channel, to Madagascar, the Seychelles, and onward to the Maldives. From there, ASTERIA will continue east, exploring the vibrant marine biodiversity and cultural depth of Southeast Asia and the untouched beauty of Raja Ampat—a diver’s paradise and one of the last truly wild marine environments on Earth.

Available for Charter – Expedition Luxury Redefined

With her rugged history, cinematic journeys, and award-winning pedigree, ASTERIA is more than a yacht—she’s a moving expedition platform wrapped in understated luxury.

Though officially listed at 50 meters, ASTERIA boasts an impressive gross tonnage of 670GT—a volume that places her well beyond typical yachts of her length. This allows for exceptionally spacious interiors and wide-open exterior decks, giving her the feel of a much larger vessel.

Her interior was entirely reimagined in 2018 by renowned French architect Charles Zana, whose design seamlessly blends contemporary elegance with functional expedition living. The result is a space that is both refined and resilient—equally suited for formal dining off Monaco or relaxed evenings in the Maldives.

Built for Exploration – Equipped for Experience

ASTERIA accommodates up to 12 guests in 6 spacious staterooms, including a full-beam owner’s suite with panoramic views. Every detail speaks to the yacht’s dual mission: to explore without compromise and to offer comfort without concession.

ASTERIA’s capabilities extend far beyond what you see on deck. She carries a fleet of five tenders, each suited to a different style of exploration—from diving and shore landings to long-range scouting and guest transport. Among them, the standout is Northwind, a custom-built, multi-climate craft that allows for beach drops, rapid logistics, diving and off-grid access in places where other yachts simply can’t operate. Whether you’re landing on a reef-fringed atoll or transferring guests onto glacial ice, the Northwind delivers reliability, range, and safety in even the harshest conditions, sun and snow!

Combined with a full dive setup, heli capabilities, and a robust technical platform built for serious blue water cruising, ASTERIA is a true global voyager.
