Larry Polster is a lifelong boater whose passion for life on the water began in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Growing up, he explored the Great Lakes aboard his family’s boat, cruising destinations that ranged from Mackinac Island to Montreal and developing an appreciation for cruising that would shape both his personal and professional life.

After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University, Larry began his career with an IT consulting firm in the Washington, D.C. area. During this time, he embraced the cruising lifestyle, living aboard a 44-foot sailing vessel. Together with his wife, Janet, and daughter, Hannah, he later enjoyed extensive cruising aboard a Kadey-Krogen 42.

Larry joined Kadey-Krogen Yachts in 2002, opening the company’s Annapolis office and helping expand its presence among serious cruising enthusiasts. In 2005, he became a partner in the company, a role he held until selling his ownership interest in 2021. He has continued to serve the Kadey-Krogen community as a yacht salesperson, sharing his decades of cruising experience and deep knowledge of the brand with prospective owners.

Since 2018, Larry has owned and lived aboard a Kadey-Krogen 50 Open, continuing the liveaboard cruising lifestyle that has defined much of his life. With a unique combination of hands-on boating experience, industry expertise, and a lifelong passion for cruising, Larry remains a trusted resource for those seeking to make their own cruising dreams a reality.
