Michael Russell brings a lifetime of boating experience and a passion for the water to Worth Avenue Yachts. He has owned, operated, maintained, and navigated numerous vessels throughout his life. His cruising experience spans the East Coast of the United States, from New York through the Florida Keys, as well as the Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, and St. Barth.
Maintaining a USCG Captain’s License for nearly 30 years, Michael brings decades of hands-on experience with vessel deliveries, ownership, maintenance, and refit projects. That background gives him a practical understanding of yacht systems, performance, operating considerations, and the realities of ownership.
Michael’s approach is well suited to clients who want more than simply a list of available boats. He takes a no-pressure approach narrowing the market to the strongest opportunities, evaluating each based on build quality, performance, operating requirements, resale considerations, and ownership goals. His focus is on providing objective guidance and practical insight throughout the process, helping clients make well-informed decisions with clarity and confidence.
Before joining Worth Avenue Yachts, Michael spent more than 25 years building and operating service-oriented businesses, with direct involvement in acquisitions, negotiations, business sales, and other transactions. After successfully exiting those businesses, he chose to bring that experience into an industry that has always been a personal passion.
Michael represents buyers and sellers across a broad range of vessels, from large center consoles and sportfishing yachts to larger motor yachts. Based in Vero Beach along Florida’s Treasure Coast and supported by Worth Avenue Yachts’ Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale offices, he combines local knowledge with the reach, market intelligence, industry relationships, and resources of one of the world’s leading luxury yacht brokerages.
A Florida native, Michael has spent much of his life on the water, fishing both recreationally and competitively throughout Florida, the Florida Keys, and the Bahamas. Happily married with a daughter and two black labs, his interests include boating, fishing, spearfishing, diving, aviation as a private pilot, real estate investment and development, air boating, and spending time with his family. He especially enjoys time on the water, time in the Caribbean, and in the mountains of North Carolina.
His work in yacht brokerage is driven by a lifelong love of boating, extensive hands-on experience, and a sincere desire to help clients make the right decisions and enjoy the yachting lifestyle to its fullest.
