JONATHAN S. CHAPMAN, CPYB

Jonathan Chapman’s passion for yachting began early while cruising the coast of Maine with his family. During his college years, he worked as a dockmaster and launch operator at New England yacht clubs while also participating in local racing events. Those early experiences on the water laid the foundation for a career built on hands-on knowledge, industry leadership, and a deep appreciation for classic and pedigree yachts.

Before entering yacht brokerage in 1999, Jonathan spent several years working aboard motor yachts around the world. His experience in vessel operation, management, maintenance, and owner representation gives him a practical understanding of yacht ownership that continues to benefit his clients today.

The Classic Yacht Market

Over the course of his brokerage career, Jonathan has represented a wide range of vessels, from production sailboats and powerboats to mega yachts and historically significant classic yachts. He has developed a particularly strong reputation within the classic yacht market, where his understanding of heritage brands, restoration quality, and market positioning has led to the successful sale of numerous notable vessels.

Jonathan is a former President of the Yacht Brokers Association of America and remains deeply committed to advancing professionalism within the industry. As a Certified Professional Yacht Broker (CPYB), licensed Florida yacht broker, and experienced yacht captain, he brings decades of technical knowledge and transactional expertise to both brokerage and new construction projects.

As Managing Director of both the Newport, Rhode Island and Chesapeake offices of Worth Avenue Yachts, Jonathan works closely with clients throughout New England, Florida, and worldwide. Whether assisting with the sale of a classic pedigree yacht or helping a client find the right vessel for their next chapter on the water, he approaches every relationship with professionalism, honesty, and long-term perspective.
